I never wash Dundaga yarn before I start knitting. Not because I’m lazy — but because I love that moment of anticipation — knowing that after hours, weeks, even months of knitting, this wool will transform completely after its first wash. Now I’m knitting a blanket. Slowly. Mindfully. Stitch by stitch, I weave in my thoughts, emotions, and memories. So much happens while the blanket grows — a month, maybe two. And then finally… it’s done. You wash it. You lay it flat to dry.
