The Latvian factory Vilnas Fabrika produces both section-dyed and solid-colored spun yarns. The yarn consists exclusively of sheep’s wool, without any addition of other fibers. Knitted garments made from this yarn provide excellent protection against the cold, are very warm, and incredibly beautiful.
The yarn is available in three thicknesses:
– 6/1 – 420 m per 100 g (single strand)
– 6/2 – 275 m per 100 g (double strand)
– 6/3 – 125 m per 100 g (rarely available)
The yarn is supplied in skeins of various weights.
Yarn consumption:
– Hat – approx. 100 g
– Snood – approx. 200 g
– Sweater size 44 – approx. 400 g
– Entrelac coat size 44 – approx. 700 g
The length of the color sections always varies, regardless of the number of colors in the skein. The length of sections in different skeins of the same shade also differs. A skein usually starts and ends with different colors.
